The Story
The Hearth takes the same London Dry backbone as The H-V Axis and pushes it further, a bigger botanical bill, sharper edges, and a lemon peel finished over the same coals used to roast pineapples for the Landlocked rum range. Nothing here gets thrown away twice.
It's built for the colder end of the year, somewhere between a smoky Negroni and a peated whisky, without pretending to be either.
How it's made
The botanicals macerate in ethanol for 24 hours before being distilled in our new 50-litre pot still: juniper berries, coriander seed, smoked lemon peel, pink peppercorns, angelica root, powdered orris root, sarsaparilla, black cardamom, and fresh rosemary. The resulting distillate is then slowly brought to bottling strength over three days.

Is it actually smoky?
Subtly. The smoke comes from lemon peel finished over the same coals we use to roast pineapples for the rum range, so it's real char, not a smoke flavouring dropped in.
